Discover two prime locations for birdwatching enthusiasts, featuring wetlands, nature trails, and a wealth of species.
Birdwatching at Son Real and s’Albufera de Mallorca is an ideal way to discover the natural richness of northern Mallorca. These two areas offer very different yet complementary landscapes: Son Real combines coastline, dunes, pine forests, wetlands and farmland, while s’Albufera is Mallorca’s largest wetland, with canals, reed beds and viewpoints designed for wildlife observation.
At Son Real, visitors can walk through a peaceful natural environment, either by the sea or within the public estate, where it is possible to observe birds typical of Mediterranean ecosystems. At s’Albufera, the experience is particularly recommended for birdwatching enthusiasts, as it is one of the most important areas in the Balearic Islands for migratory and aquatic birds.
It is a perfect activity to enjoy at a leisurely pace, with binoculars, a camera and plenty of time to observe the landscape. It is also a great option for families, photography enthusiasts and visitors who want to discover a more natural, peaceful and wildlife-rich side of Mallorca.
If you are a birdwatching enthusiast, these two natural areas offer a wide range of opportunities to enjoy your hobby. More than 200 species of birds can be found and observed here. Both the Finca Pública de Son Real and the Parc Natural de s’Albufera de Mallorca are very well equipped for birdwatching, with several observation points, signposted routes and information centres.
