*Els Ports* is a sculpture by Joan Bennàssar created in 2022 as part of the project *La nova Ítaca de la Mediterrània*.
The work refers to ports as places of arrival, departure and refuge. In the Mediterranean world, ports have always been places of travel, exchange, waiting and shelter from the sea.
Within Bennàssar’s sculptural ensemble, this piece connects particularly with the maritime landscape of Son Serra de Marina and with the idea of the sea as an open route. It is a sculpture that invites us to reflect on journeys, encounters and the bonds that emerge between people, communities and the Mediterranean.
