Jasó

Jasó represents the adventure of the Argonauts and the quest for the Golden Fleece. It is a sculpture linked to travel, myth, and the power of great Mediterranean tales.

Jasó is a sculpture by Joan Bennàssar created in 2022 as part of the La nova Ítaca de la Mediterrània project.

The work refers to the myth of Jasó and the Argonauts, one of the great stories of the classical Mediterranean imagination. Jasó represents adventure, the journey and the search for the Golden Fleece, a symbol of desire, self-improvement and discovery.

Within Bennàssar’s sculptural ensemble, this piece connects with the sea as a space of passage and with the Mediterranean as a land of myths, ports, routes and returns. It is a sculpture that invites us to see the journey not merely as movement from one place to another, but as an experience of personal transformation.
